How to install Windows 10 from USB Flash Disk

This post will show you how to repair Windows 10 installation using bootable installation DVD or USB stick without losing data. In situations where you cannot access Windows 10 Advanced Options troubleshooting options from Windows, you will need to use a USB device or DVD.

The steps involved are:

Download Windows ISO Create a bootable DVD or USB drive Boot from the middle and select "Repair your computer". Select Startup Repair under Advanced Troubleshooting. If you can't start Windows 10 and can't access your files, Windows 10 Startup Repair can fix some of the most common problems with advanced recovery methods. No data is lost during the recovery process.

1.Download Windows ISO

It is not required, but you will need to download the same Windows ISO version installed on your computer. The advanced troubleshooter doesn't depend on your version of Windows, but it can come in handy when you need to do a clean install of Windows.

2.Create a bootable DVD or USB drive

Once you have the ISO, create a bootable USB drive using one of the listed tools. Then boot into the BIOS or UEFI of the computer, select the USB device as the first boot device, then select the hard drive. The ISO is also available for download, which is why I recommend using Rufus.

3.Boot from the middle and select "Repair Computer".

Booting from the USB drive will start installing Windows 10. If you don't feel like hitting any further, it will install Windows. On the first installation screen, look for the "Repair your computer" link. Click on it. Start your computer for advanced recovery.
